Okay, well I may not be updating this blog every day, since today wasn't all that different from yesterday. Between a morning and evening spent double-digging the garden, I did manage my first first day of working remotely. My internet's a little slower than what I'm used to, but other than that, everything has gone off without a hitch so far.

It gets really windy here, especially a few miles away where the Blue Ridge plateau drops down into the piedmont of North Carolina. I was stuck in traffic for a couple hours around noon today, on the way to return the moving truck to Wytheville, Virginia, about 50 miles away. This was becuase a truck apparently blew over or lost control and turned over on its side, creating a 15-mile backup. We thought we'd escaped traffic jams, but not just yet...

A cold and somewhat breezy morning turned into a gorgeous day, with perfect temperatures for working outside. It's about 8:30 right now and I'm ready for bed. Tomorrow I'll get up and do it all over again. I should have the garden dug by the weekend. I'm certainly looking forward to happy hour at the local vineyard on Friday. Should be good times...
